The nCite^TM Element Management System (EMS) provides a comprenhensive set of functionality for managing nCite Session Border Controller (SBC) real-time sessions, including defining and managing customer policies, automatic recognition of system alarms and events, and the monitoring of resource usage statics for network and service planning purposes.

Using the nCite EMS, service providers can set up specific customer network policies that includes information related to the protocol used (SIP, H.323), the type of network required (Enterprise, Consumer, Carrier), Session Admission Control level (number of session, event dialogs), QoS marking, and any other pertinent information that provides the operator with the ability to customize the service of their VoIP customers.

SLAs, one of the most important issues with any telecommunication services, are now easily enforced with the nCite EMS. The nCite EMS provides the following information on a per call basis:
• Signaling information (SIP/H.323)
- Start time, stop time, duration, end state
- Caller ID, callee ID, caller protocol, callee protocol
- Protocol specific identifiers
- Media binding information
• Media Information (RTP/RTCP) - average jitter, packet loss
• Reporting Medium
- Network Detail Records - for sessions, registrations, and call failures
- Real-time Session Display - for sessions, registrations, and event dialogs
- Performance Statistics - generated at the chassis and customer network level

EASE OF MANAGEMENT
The nCite EMS provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that allows several nCite SBCs to be managed from a single view. The GUI is accessed via a standard browser running a Java application. Standard APIs are also available for OSS integration. The nCite SBC comes quipped with industry standard Northbound interfaces for rapid integration into existing network management system interfaces include:
