Aculab - Digital Network Access

E1/T1 cPCI

E1/T1 cPCI
Descripción
Aculab presents its proven digital network access and signalling protocol support in a CompactPCI (cPCI) offering to developers who are looking to deploy solutions into the telco and service provider markets. cPCI brings the benefits of industry standard hardware and software interoperability, including chassis and operating system independence, to carrier class solutions. Aculab's high performance, standards compliant E1/T1 cPCI digital network access cards offer all of the essential features necessary for telco grade products, including high availability, reliability and scalability.

High density, high value
The E1/T1 cPCI card options provide integrators with a range of high density digital network access solutions that allows any protocol - whether E1 or T1 - to be used and changed independently on a per network line interface basis. A single card, occupying one physical backplane slot, provides up to 496 speech channels, with the flexibility to combine both E1 and T1 interfaces and a mix of protocols, including ISDN, CAS or SS7. Aculab's SS7 protocol stack coverage provides signalling messages for MTP, ISUP, SCCP and TCAP procedures.

Multiple cards can be installed in a cPCI chassis, providing a scalable solution in a single server. Dedicated applications can make full use of card capacity, so developers gain a distinct advantage in terms of overall system cost and value per channel.

Reliability and standards
Aculab's cards have been designed with a focus on reliability and system availability - critical requirements for a telecom server application. The open standards based cPCI cards have been designed to meet in full the relevant PICMG and ECTF H.110 specifications for hot swap and high capacity CT connectivity. A passive transition module is provided to ensure a true implementation of hot swap is possible with rear panel access. This means that live insertion and extraction, crucial to the availability of any telecom system, is possible.

Faster time to market
Aculab's cross platform API means that the learning curve for developers looking to leverage applications onto cPCI technology is short, with low risk. Developers gain access to the widest range of host independent approvals and worldwide protocol support with the ability to combine E1, T1, SS7, ISDN and CAS digital network connectivity. This flexibility and ease of use presents excellent value for money and reduces time to market.

Flexibility in practice
The cPCI technology provides an easy transition to flexible solutions. For complex system designs requiring additional resources, channels can be routed over any of the 4096 timeslots on the H.110 bus to separate media processing resources. A mix of E1/T1 and Prosody cPCI cards may be flexibly combined for applications that require media processing resources, such as record, playback and echo cancellation, to deliver powerful CT solutions.

Networking options
When looking to select a digital network access card today, planning of international product roll out should be fully considered. The E1/T1 cPCI cards offer public or private network connectivity with 75R, 100R, or 120R termination impedance, RJ45/RJ48C or RJ12 and optional BNC presentation (see techincal summary for details). Tone based signalling for inter-working into legacy CAS and R2 derivative infrastructures is supported.

Basic signal processing functions
DSPs used in support of signalling in tone based networks may alternatively fulfil some functions appropriate to a line card (see technical summary for the available card options). Functions, which run on a per DSP basis, include: conferencing with an added warn tone, A-law and µ-law coding conversions, tone generation and detection, and fax tone detection.
